Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, whether you purchase your yarn from Lucky Violet Color Co. or from someone else, or use yarn from your stash. (Of course, if you do purchase yarn from Lucky Violet Color Co. now or in the future, we will appreciate your support because that kind of support makes it possible for us to create our lovely knitwear designs and give them out for free to knitting artists all over the world on a regular basis.)

Why We Do What We Do

When we first started sponsoring our Valentine Knit Alongs, our idea was to create sort of a lonely hearts club for knitters who might not have a special Valentine to share the holiday with.

By creating nostalgic Valentine inspired colorways we give knitters an opportunity to do something extra special for themselves that stirs fond memories. We package the yarn shipments so that when our knitters receive their packages and open them, it is like opening a gift.

The KAL patterns are released on Valentine’s Day so that there is something extra special to look forward to that day, and to know that you are in the company of many others knitting together at the same time … so that maybe anyone out there who is feeling lonely will be aware they are knitting with friends, and not so alone after all.

This year’s design is an asymmetric wrap featuring an easy-to-work cable stitch, eyelets, an optional i-Cord border along one edge, a wee bit of garter stitch and stockinette.

Yarn & Equipment Requirements: 200 grams fingering weight yarn, minimum. More may used if desired, as the size is adjustable. Also you need Size U.S. 6 interchangeable circular needles.

We love this new design and are sure you will too. The pattern is easy to memorize and roll with, so the pattern was released in its entirety on February 14th — no clues or other pattern updates to deal with. The pattern has been test knit and tech edited.
