This crochet pattern includes lots of photos to help you create this adorable hippo softie. Her friendly little face, heart-bedazzled bathing suit and thick cheeky buns make her irresistible!

This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters; those with a basic understanding of crochet, and who don’t mind a little bit of sewing.

The finished pieces stand roughly 8 inches tall. Valentina Hippo is great for cuddling, but please note, if she is being made for children under 3, do not use buttons for eyes - embroider them on instead (instructions for this are not provided).

You will need:
• 1 skein size 6 super bulky yarn in grey, scrap amounts of size 6 bulky yarn in dark pink
• 1 skein size 4 worsted weight yarn in light pink
• Scrap amounts size 4 worsted weight yarn in red
• Crochet hook size H 5.00 mm or size needed to obtain gauge
• Crochet hook size 3.00 mm
• Tapestry needle
• Fiber Fill
• 2 x 3/4 inch black buttons
• Stitch marker
