Valentines Mousefits, Rose, Heart & Cupid
This pattern is for the mouse and the rose, heart and cupid removable valentine themed outfits.
The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.
You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used King Cole cherished DK weight yarn for this project (this is equivalent to light worsted weight yarn) and my finished mouse measures approximately 10cm tall. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn throughout the entire project.
For the mouse itself (pages 4 - 8) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Main mouse colour - I used pale grey (approx. 23.5m).
- Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 13m).
For the rose costume (pages 9 -12) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Red - for the petals (approx. 23.5m).
- Green - for the body section and leaves (approx. 31m).
For the heart costume (pages 13 -17) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Red - for the heart & flower (approx. 24m).
- Green - for the small stem / holding loop (approx. 0.5m).
- White - for the (optional) lettering (approx. 0.5m).
- Yellow - for the piece of cheese (approx. 2m).
- Black - for the gift box (approx. 11m).
For the cupid costume (pages 18 - 21) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- White - for the robes & ear loops (approx. 13m).
- Gold - for the halo, belt, wings & arrow (approx. 5.5m).
- Red - for the arrow head (approx. 10m).
- Light Brown - for the bow (approx. 2.5m).
Please Note = The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide and are based on using King Cole Cherished DK weight yarn with a 4mm hook. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.
You will also need:
- A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
- A pair of 6mm black safety eyes.
- Some toy stuffing.
- Some finer black yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face (this step is optional).
- Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
Thank you.
