Valkyrja lopapeysa
The Icelandic word “valkyrja” (e. valkyrie) comes from Norse mythology and means “chooser of the slain”. The Valkyries were female figures who chose the men and women who died courageously in battle and carried them to Valhalla. In Valhalla they lived with the gods, battling during the day and feasting in the night and would eventually fight at Odin’s side during the eschaton (Ragnarök). The Valkyries were strong, brave, noble and loyal. They symbolize the strength and power of women. This sweater is for all the Valkyries out there.
The sweater is fitted but can also be made straight. Instructions for both versions are included in the pattern.
