Valley View
Mountain peaks and gullies kiss the sky’s edge in Valley View. Mimicking the hollowed-out valleys, the gentle curves of Valley View are created with a bevy of short rows. Outline the horizon with your favorite accent color. Short rows transform a sharp geometric shape into a softly curving shawl. Internal short rows create an undulating line to highlight the accent color. Like geology hidden in the landscape of time, the short rows will only be known to the crafter and those with a very keen eye.
The tech edited and test knit intermediate level pattern is fully written with a how-to video, schematic, and diagram.

Special Notes:
- Construct It: this outside in shawl begins with by casting on the hypotenuse of two right triangles side by side. A bevy of short rows is then used to fill in the area of the isosceles triangle. Some are short on either end and others are short in the middle. Named markers are used to easily fly to the next short row spot. The workflow of short rows is as follows - MC Outer Edge uses short rows along each end. CC Stripe uses short rows to grow the middle. MC and CC Body uses short rows to grow the middle. Mini-short rows repeats are used to bind off the shawl stitches, both as you work and at the end.
- Count It: count the two strands of MCCC as a single stitch. This applies to MCCC - p1 and when working MCCC - k3tog.
- Mark It: Valley View uses named markers of two types. A, B, C, and D indicate short row locations and T indicates the center lace detail. You may wish to use different colored markers for each set of letters.
