Valor Cowl
Accessorize the strong and courageous person that you are with Valor Cowl. Very little bravery is required to knit this cowl; if you can knit and purl you can make this. If joining cast-on stitches to knit in the round makes you nervous, be brave—you can use my little trick to make it easier.
I love that the broken rib produces a fabric that lies flat, but the coolest part is that when you add a stripe, it also creates a fun little blip of contrast color. The simple two-color cast-on and complementary stem-stitch sewn bind-off extend the accent color to each edge. Choose your background color and then experiment with one or more contrast colors. This is a great way to use up small bits of leftover yarn from previous projects. Valor Cowl knits up quickly thanks to worsted weight yarn—perfect for gift giving or for yourself.
Main Color: Approximately 75 (195) yd. 69 (178) m
Contrast Color(s): Approximately 25 (52) yd. 23 (48) m, total
If using multiple Contrast Colors, each round uses roughly 3 (6.5) yd. 3 (6) m.
Line-by-line instructions are given with space to check off progress. Pattern includes written tutorials as well as links to videos for the two-color long-tail cast-on and stem-stitch sewn bind-off.
