Van Gogh Waves
Inspired by the colors of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night, I transformed the swirling sky into ocean waves. Using three colors for the waves evokes the ocean on a night of a clear moon. The waves are separated by short rows in two different colors to represent different bands of waves in the distance. The afghan is bordered with a “frame”, as artwork deserves.
Note from Designer: I just want to point out that the third photo is actually the back of the afghan.
Another note because I’ve been asked about it: The entire afghan is made in Tunisian crochet, including the border. The regular crochet hook is used in the last 2 rounds of the border.
Materials:
3 skeins each of #111 navy, #234 pines print, #115 blue mist, #118 indigo, #191 violet
