Vanessa the Vestigan is a button-up sweater vest, with a cropped length and a fitted shape. The vest is knitted bottom-up, dividing the work for the armholes, joining the shoulder seams with three needle cast offs and picking up stitches for the trim so the only sewing involved is sewing on the buttons.

This pattern is perfect for an advanced beginner, knit mainly in stocking stitch but with a few extra techniques, or perfect for experienced knitters looking for something quick!

10mm circular needles (I’d recommend 80–100cm)
230–390m chunky yarn
4 x 25–30mm buttons
Sewing up needle

Make 1 left

Slip Slip Knit
Knit two together
Three needle cast off
Picking Up Stitches

XS = 75cm bust
S = 83.5cm bust
M = 92.5cm bust
L = 105.5cm bust
XL = 114.5cm bust
XXL = 123cm bust
3X = 130cm bust
