About “Vanilla Sock”
This is my pattern for a basic sock - simple and delicious - just like vanilla. Pure stockinette and a heel easy to memorize.

Abbreviations
CO - Cast on
st(s) - Stitch(es)
rnd(s) - round(s)
k1fb - knit into front and back loop of st
k - knit
p - purl
sl1wyif - slip 1 st with yarn in front
GSR - German short-row
k2tog - knit to sts together
BO - Bind off/Bound off.

You will need
Sock yarn
3 mm (US 2½) DPNs
optional 2-2½ mm (US 0-1) DPNs, if a tighter cuff is wanted.
optional stitch marker for the beginning of round
Tapestry needle

Gauge
28 stitches per. 10 cm (4’’)
