Vanns Tavern
This hat is knitted in the round and is based on 3x1 ribbing, so the end result is very stretchy. Pattern includes 1 child size and 1 adult size. Remember it is s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y so one size really does fit most adults. I tried the same hat on a 21” head and a 24” head and it fit both comfortably. The length is, of course, easily adjustable. And row gauge isn’t really all that important- just knit to the length you want. The pattern instructions are written, not charted. It’s a pretty simple repeat- I felt no need to chart.
Helpful tips: I used the Chinese Waitress cast on for my hat (my favorite). Here’s a super helpful video tutorial for this technique using a crochet hook! (Surprisingly easy- try it!) https://youtu.be/
Some have also found it helpful to use a crochet hook to help pull up the loops if having difficulty hanging onto them with their knitting needle.
Please make sure to read through the pattern, especially the abbreviations, and look at pictures, to avoid confusion.
