Variation on a Twist is a top down, short-sleeved pullover with gentle waist shaping that leads to a slight A-line silhouette. (A long-sleeved option is also included in this pattern.) A simple garter and twisted stitch pattern adorns the yoke and only one color is worked per round. German short rows are used to shape the neckline after the yoke pattern is completed. (A link to a German Short Row video tutorial is included.)
This sweater is designed to be worn with 0” to 4” of positive ease. The measurements given are the finished measurements. Gentle waist shaping gives way to a slight A-line look at the hips resulting in an approximate 2” larger hip circumference than the bust circumference. Additional options for body shaping are provided in the pattern. Options for slightly lengthening the short-sleeved version or for working a long-sleeved version are also included in the pattern.
This pattern is written to include eighteen sizes ranging from a finished bust circumference of 32” to 66”. The instructions have been separated into two files for ease of pattern reading.
