Varma Hat
The hat is knitted from the bottom up. There are two different cast on methods to choose from, either the traditional Long-Tail Cast On method or a stretchier Tubular Cast On method, which is explained in the instructions.
The charted section is 20 stitches wide, so you can easily customize your hat by adding more repeats if you wish or making just one statement section over the side of your hat. For the smaller size (fitted version) the chart can be repeated up to 5 times for the overall pattern look, or for the slouchy version up to 6 times total. If you decide to add more pattern repeats, remember to make the purled sections shorter too (or omit the purled sections completely if you want the pattern over the whole hat!)
You can customize your hat even more by adding a colorful pompom!
