This knitted Vehicle Playset includes Ambulance, Post Van, Tractor, Car, Police Car, Camper Van, Bus, Fire Engine, and the Road Play-mat, and two sizes of mat are included in the pattern.

This pattern has been designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz using acrylic yarns, and is knitted flat on single pointed needles. A few of the vehicles have decorative elements that are i-cord tubes knitted on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
For the vehicles:
A pair of 3.5mm (US 4) straight single pointed knitting needles
Two 3.5mm (US4) double pointed needles (DPNs)
For the play-mat:
A pair of 6.5mm (US10.5) straight single pointed knitting needles
A 7mm (US K/10.5) crochet hook to add the border

SIZES
One Size: As a guide to the vehicle sizes, the ambulance is 13cm long x 8cm tall x 8cm wide. The play-mat is 96cm tall x 74cm wide (large) or 48cm tall x 74cm wide (small).

TECHNIQUES
Work flat on single pointed needles (not in the round). The light bars, ladder and funnel are i-cord worked on two DPNs.
Other techniques include casting on and off, knits and purls, increases and decreases, knitting stripes and intarsia colour-work, Swiss darning (duplicate stitch embroidery) and seaming to finish.
