Veiled Waterfall
The cascading length and rippled yarn carries on this shawl are reminiscent of a waterfall, hidden among the trees. This knit can be worn wrapped around your shoulders, left to drape off of your arms, or it can be wrapped around your neck as a luxurious scarf. It is a breeze to knit!
Yarn
Wonderland Yarns set “For Warmth, You Know” Mad Hatter, sport weight yarn, shown in “Lime to Turquoise Shadow #33”
Needles
US 4/3.5mm 24” circular needle (worked flat, but the extra length of the circular compared to straights helps)
Cable needle
Notions
- darning needle
- 4 stitch markers
- crayons, colored pencils, or markers (to color in color chart)
Gauge
28 sts and 32 rows in stockinette stitch
Gauge does not need to be precise, as a shawl doesn’t need to “fit” in the way that a sweater, socks, hat, etc. does. I used a US 4/3.5mm needle.
Dimensions
90 inches/2.3 meters long by 14 inches/36 cm wide (Blocked)
For shorter length, knit shorter sections of each color.
Skilled Used
- knit
- purl
