The Velvety Hood is a vintage-inspired hood that will keep your ears and neck warm.
This cute hood is perfect for windy days. You can easily adapt the pattern to your desired length.LEVEL

YARN
1 (2) skeins of Natural Cotton Merino Gregoria Fibers (50g = 180 yards/165 m) (70% cotton, 30% merino).
3 (3) skeins of Kidsilk Lace Gregoria Fibers (25g = 230 yards/ 210 m) (73% superkid mohair, 27% silk).
The hood is worked holding four strands of yarn together (three of Kidsilk Lace and one of Natural Cotton Merino).
For the sample we used one strand of our colorway “Ivory” and two strands of “Sand” of Kidsilk Lace and one strand of our colorway “Stone” of Natural Cotton Merino.
NEEDLES
US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, cable length 16 or 24” (40 or 60 cm).
US 8 / 5 mm circular needles, cable length or 15 or 32” (40 or 80 cm).
US 8 / 5 mm DPNs.
GAUGE
15 stitches x 21 rnds = 4” / 10 cm on US 8 (5 mm) needles.
SIZES

Size 1 fits a head circumference of 54 – 58 cm 21.25- 23”. The width of the hat is 22 cm 8.6”. The length can be adjusted to the desired fit.
Size 2 fits a head circumference of 58 – 63 cm 23-24.75”. The width of the hat is 24 cm 9.4”. The length can be adjusted to the desired fit.
Please note that the yardage will be affected if you adapt the length.
