This neck warmer is inspired by a pub discussion about the perfect scarf / neck warmer which could keep your face, neck and décollatage warm in one garment. It uses the Roman Rib stitch pattern to create stretch and texture. Knitted flat, the directions call for 23 sets of buttons and buttonholes. Although these can be fastened all the way up (to cover the face, as discussed in the pub), I prefer to use the neck warmer more as a statement collar, over a dress, fastening 14 to 16 buttons only, depending on my outfit. It can be worn with or without a coat, in place of a scarf and fits much like a cowl or scarf around the neck, not laying completely flat.
