The Venture Hat is a great pattern if you’re looking for a quick, satisfying knit. Most of us have half skeins sitting in our stash; especially if you’ve knit my Venture Cowl. This makes a great gift, as that’s exactly what I’m doing with my samples. Shh…don’t tell anyone, it might ruin the surprise.

This pattern is written for youth and adult sizes. However, it would be simple enough to adjust yarn and needle size to knit smaller hats for younger kids or going up for an adult large.

Skills needed include knit stitch, purl stitch, joining in the round, decreases, and mosaic colorwork. Don’t fret the colorwork, mosaic knitting is all achieved by slipping stitches using one color per round.

Yarn Requirements
Main Color: 50g (~100 yds) worsted weight yarn
Contrast Color: 30-50g (60-100 yds) worsted weight yarn
