Vera neckwarmer no. 2 is knitted in brioche stitch. It is worked back and forth starting from the bottom edge of the back piece, up to the shoulders and down over the front piece. Stitches are picked up around the neckline and the collar is worked in the round in twisted rib.

Knitting techniques used are Italian cast on followed by two rows of duble knitting, brioche stitch with yarn over, decreasing and increasing in brioche stitch, twisted rib and Italian cast off.

Keep in mind that only half of the rows are visible in brioche stitch. You have to double the rows when you count them.

Brioche knitting stretches during use but contracts after wash and blocking.

Hight of collar when folded: 10-11 (10-11) cm / 3,9-4,3 (3,9-4,3) in.
Width of front piece: 35 (38) cm / 13,8 (14,9) in.
Width of back piece: 36 (39) cm / 14,1 (15,3) in.
Length of front piece from shoulder: 39 (42) cm / 15,3 (16,5) in.
Length of back piece from shoulder: 43 (46) cm / 16,9 (18,1) in.

Yardage
200-250 (250) g Drops Puna (50 g = 110 m / 120 yards) held together with 50-75 (75) g Drops Kid-Silk (25 g = 210 m / 230 yards).

The yardage for the white neckwarmer on the photos (size XS/S with height of collar 22 cm /8,7 in) is 202 g Drops Puna (but was only required four balls of yarn) and 50 g Kid-Silk (but was required to start on a third ball of yarn). The weight of the balls of yarn can vary slightly.

Needles
Circular needles 4 mm, 40 cm (US 6, 16 in) (or the needle size you need to achieve the correct gauge.

Gauge
18 sts x 38 rows in brioche stitch = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) after wash and blocking.

Other materials
A tapestry needle and markers.

The white neckwarmer is made in Drops Puna no. 1 and Drops Kid-Silk no. 1.
The brown neckwarmer is made in Drops Puna no. 3 och Drops Kid-Silk no. 15.
