This pattern is rated intermediate because it uses a unique turning corner. It may look like you have worked this in rounds but you are really working rows. There is a photo tutorial to walk you through the new technique. The final result leaves you with concentric ridged squares.

Use the hook that works best for the yarn that you choose.

The baby blanket uses this pattern as it’s base so that it is square and then the lattice border from the Placemat pattern. It also uses bloHDC in some of the rows instead of bloSC. This creates more of a ripple than a ridge.

This pattern is just in time for Christmas. Make a set of something to put under the Christmas tree. Have a present you forgot? You can make a set of these at the last minute without having to worry about needing a month of crochet time to finish it. These work up really quickly and you will love your results!
