I wanted to do a second version of the Golden Gate Waves Cowl, but twisting the waves at a 90° so that the ripple is now vertical. The two patterns are thus very similar

This project works particularly well with thin (lace, sock, fingering), self patterning yarns with soft color variations (e.g. self-striping, hand dyed or ombré).

The fact that it is thin yarn allows for a nice drape, whilst the crochet technique adds body to the cowl to make it warm and cosy!
