Vertical Keyhole Scarf
This pattern was designed to use the full amount of a special, soft yarn that you want to wear around your neck - especially when you don’t have enough of that yarn for a real scarf but a cowl would give you leftovers. It’s a great pattern for showing off the texture of handspun yarn or to use that small ball of luxury fiber you couldn’t pass up.
Also, it’s a really easy, 1 x 1 ribbed pattern, which keeps the scarf from curling and can add a nice extra bit of squooshiness to the scarf. Looks equally good – just different – in heavy or lace weight yarns, and is easily adjustable to any weight of yarn. Instructions guide you to figure out your own gauge to get the fabric you want and go from there.
There is a vertical keyhole opening so that you can tuck one end through the hole and it will keep a short scarf around your neck.
