Verveine
Verveine actually contains two patterns.
One is a square hap and the other is a half hap, a triangle shawl.
Both designs have their roots in Shetland Lace Knitting…but do add a modern twist to it.
The leaves of Vereine and the comfort, this beautiful fragrance gives, have been the inspiration to this harmonious haps.
The leafy lace appears in the center of the calm garter stitch pattern in a natural way. Both haps will be framed later by a well balanced lacy, wavy border.
The appearance of this beauty will be airy and light, but also comforting and warm.
This shawl is a very pleasant knit. It is knitted in one piece. The right amount of garter stitch and lace pattern in the center, and the knitted-in-the-round frame will make it thrilling enough to stick to it. It´s neither too challenging nor monotone.
The lace part is charted, the rest is a written instruction, containing a drawing to point out how to pick up the stitches around the frame.
This pattern calls for i.e. any of the welthase lace yarns.
The sample is knitted with St Kilda lace, undyed.
