Very Basic Granny Square Blanket
I decided to make this pattern for other beginners after I realized how easy it was to make a granny square blanket. I tried to include lots of pictures and links to tutorials.
The colours are the key to making this blanket really eye-catching; people always compliment me on mine even though it was SO SIMPLE to make.
- I realize that I did not include instructions on how to change colours the way I did in the pictures, so here is a link to a good tutorial on how I change colours while making granny squares. In this pattern I would change colours after row 2, and sometimes after row 5, but some of them I made solid. I had no plan going into it, I just had fun mixing and matching colours!
I used Caron Cakes, but the beauty of granny squares is that gauge and size don’t really matter -- as long as your squares lie flat when they’re done, you’re good to go.
