The Very Basic Mittens pattern includes instructions for 4 sizes - Child, Teen, Woman and Man (6”, 7”, 8” and 9” hand circumference).

The Very Basic Mittens are knit seamlessly in the round, at a gauge of 5 stitches per inch, on double pointed needles.

The Very Basic Mittens require between 100 and 250 yards worsted weight yarn; size 4 and size 6 double pointed needles; stitch markers, waste yarn (for temporarily holding thumb stitches, while working the hand); and a tapestry needle.

Samples were knit with Berroco Vintage yarn, but any comparable worsted weight yarn will work for these mittens.

Skills required are casting on, knitting in the round, purling, increasing, decreasing, and picking up stitches (for thumb).

These Very Basic Mittens knit up so quickly - you’ll want to make a pair for everyone you know!
