Very Berry Cardigan
Very Berry is a comfortable cardigan (15-20cm / 6-7” of positive ease) with lace panels along the body (front and back) and sleeves. You can knit it to mid-hip length (standard), or mid-thigh (long). It is knit bottom-up without seaming: first work the main body flat, then both sleeves in the round up to the armholes. After that connect the 3 pieces and continue working the yoke flat. Finish by working applied button bands sideways.
This tutorial gives you detailed step-by-step instructions for the whole process, including written instructions, charts (optional), photo- and video-tutorials.
You will need:
yarn
African Expresisons Hope (240yrd/3.5oz) held double-, or even triple or any other yarn with similar characteristics;
You can also substitute for DK-weight wool (85-100m) for a heavier garment.
Suggested yarns (held double or triple to achieve the right gauge with different fabric density – see required amounts inside the pattern):
o The sample was knit out of African Expressions ‘Hope’ (212m/231yds per 25g/0.9oz; 80% mohair, 20% polyamide)
o Rico Design ‘Essentials Super Kid Mohair Silk’ (200m/220yds per 25g/0.9oz; 70% mohair, 30% silk)
o Drops ‘Kid Silk’ (210m/230yds per 25g/0.9oz; 75% mohair, 25% silk)
