Very Drafty
The pattern provides instructions for a scarf and a cowl, knit in worsted weight yarn. The stitch is reversible but not identical on both sides, and both sides are attractive (ideal for neckwear).
Both samples were made from Tess’ Designer Yarns Silk & Merino in a colorway that makes me very happy.
The scarf picture shows both faces; it is 8” wide and 56” long.
The cowl is long enough to wrap twice around the neck for winter warmth, and wide enough to cover shoulders indoors under drafty air conditioners. The sample shown is 9 1/2” high with a 40” circumference.
The height and width of the scarf, and height and circumference of the cowl, are both under knitter control (altering yarn requirements).
Stitches used:
Scarf: knit, purl, k2tog and ssk, p2tog and ssp, yo.
Cowl: knit, k2tog and ssk, yo.
Borders (optional): knit and purl.
