Very Hungry Socks (chart)!

This free pattern is a chart to add duplicate stitch details to a vanilla (plain stockinette) sock. There is no sock pattern included - just use your favourite vanilla pattern in green and red yarn, then add details with duplicate stitch in yellow and green scrap yarn.

Two charts are included - one for mismatched eyes (not a Very Perfect Caterpillar!) and one for matching eyes.

Top-down construction is recommended for ease of stitching for details on the toe but is not necessary. If knitting top-down you can add the details before Kitchener stitching the toe closed.

Instructions on how to duplicate stitch are not included but there are lots of great videos online.

This pattern would make a perfect end-of-year gift for teachers and is small enough that it could be added to children’s clothing as a cute detail.
