Vest or shawl I230
This vest started out as a shawl, but my attention span is very limited for repetitive knitting, so I decided to split the cable at the neckline, and continue the same lace pattern down the 2 fronts. Then stitches were picked up and knitted in garter stitch on each side, joined with a 3-needle bind off. In order to add shaping and length, I picked up sts around the entire vest, and worked in stockinette until the final ribbing. It is so figure flattering, and you can make it larger than you see it here with 2 skeins. I used every bit of 1 skein for the smaller version.
Almost forgot--I used an I-cord edging off to finish the sleeve openings and neaten them.
SHOWN IN Ensemble Light color H37. One skein makes the small, Two skeins for larger sizes.
We’ll make this relatively simple vest together in September, so please sign up here as follows:
- Press “cast on” to create your project page
- Post a photo of the yarn that you will be using -- note that Artyarns yarn is required for participation, and yarn options are here: www.artyarns.com
- You will receive Part 1 on September 1 via Ravelry Private Message. You must use the yarn you have posted to knit Part 1 and post a photo of Part 1 in order to get Part 2.
If you prefer to make this as a shawl, it will be a much simpler knit, but you should follow the instructions above for joining, as both options are included in the same mailings.
