Via Appia
The ‘Via Appia’ (Appian way) is an ancient Roman road in Italy extending south from Rome to Brindisi.
This is the second of three patterns that can be bought individually and are also available with a promotion as a collection called “Embraced and Entwined”.
The collection does include this stole, the Se son rose… and the Coppedè scarves; the three patterns are offered for sale at the discounted price of 11.00 EUR (VAT excluded).
To buy the collection you can either put the three patterns in your cart, or buy each of them separately.
If you purchase this pattern, and will later buy the other two patterns which are part of the collection, the price of Via Appia will be deducted from the cost of the collection.
These three patterns represent the path of love :
- the lacy scarf being the flowers on the first date,
- the cabled scarf being the stage as the two learn to entwine their lives,
- the stole as being the stage when the commitment to build something together has developed.
This stole is worked side to side. Directions are given for the basic version and for an elongated version; please take in account the modifications will alter the needed yardage.
The pattern has charts and line-by-line directions.
The sample in the first picture (basic version) has been knit by Estelle Sewinglady9, with 1052 yd – 962 m of sport
weight 50% Silk/ 50% Alpaca (146yd – 134 m on 1.76 oz - 50g) and needles size 4.5mm - US size 7 .
My biggest thanks to Andrea - Bea327 for suggesting the name for this stole, Monika-Mosil1949 for the name of the collection and to Janet-Jweston for the image of the path of love. :-))
On the download page there are two files : “Via_Appia.pdf” is the complete pattern with charts and written directions, “Samples_Via_Appia.pdf” contains the pictures and the specifics of all the test samples. My biggest thanks to the test knitters, their projects are wonderful!
NOTE : the “Samples_Via_Appia.pdf” does NOT contain directions, only pictures of the test samples, yarn amount, measurements and notes. There is NO need to print it to knit this pattern.
