This design was inspired by the old Victorian style boots that button up the side of the leg. There are written directions and detailed instructions for each stitch used.

180 yards (85 grams) of Patons Classic Wool in Plum Heather
Two size 8 (5 mm) straight needles
Five 1 inch (25 mm) buttons
Tapestry needle
Sewing needle
Small amount of thread to attach buttons

4 X 4 inch (10 X 10 cm) swatch in stockinette stitch= 19 stitches X 24 row
