Victorian Lace Choker
OCTOBER 15, 2016 UPDATE: Due to many questions about the pre-existing pattern for the choker that i wrote a few years ago, I remade it as per the instructions and found a number of errors. I have revamped the pattern and uploaded a NEW PDF with a picture guide, and updated stitch count, that shows what your choker should look like at the end of each row. If any more questions persist, please do not hesitate to contact me :)
I couldn’t seem to find a lacy choker pattern that I liked, so I decided to make my own. Not too difficult, I wanted something I could make quickly and yet could make in a variety of colors to pair with anything from jeans and a T-shirt, to a dress.
Materials:
Size 8 steel hook
-
Size 10 crochet thread in color of your liking- I did mine in white which gives it a bridal feel, but feel free to make it in a bolder color, like black or red, for a more gothic feel.
-
Necklace closure- lobster clasp, magnetic, etc. You may also want to buy some chain to attach to the necklace before attaching the closure if you find that the choker is a bit tighter than you would like
Small charm of your chosing- I used a pearl post earring that had lost its mate. Bent the post into a loop and used the earring as a charm. But you can use whatever you like; beads, buttons, the options are limitless!
Jump ring to attach to charm
Send me pictures if you do make this, I’d love to see what people come up with :)
