THIS IS A CROCHET pattern.
Experience Level: Intermediate. I recommend you have experience in more complex, lengthy pattern instructions.
Concentration Level is moderate to high in this pattern.
The stitches you need to know are fairly easy: Single Crochet (sc), Increase (INC), Decrease (DEC), Long Single Crochet (Long sc), and slip stitch.
Finished Size: Approximately 25” tall and 32” bust, 23” waist, & 34” hips (worsted weight yarn). If you use #18 nylon crochet thread, then your approximate completed size of mannequin will be 20” tall, 27” bust, 21” waist, & 30” hips-This would be a more decorative size. (Variances will occur based on individual gauge, type of yarn, and amount of fiberfill).
DISCLAIMER: It is a LONG pattern, that requires stitch counting accuracy. I designed and wrote the pattern and I still have to continually count the stitches to ensure I’m on track. Many rounds have a complex array of sc, decrease, and increase stitches.
This pattern requires a sturdy type acrylic yarn of medium worsted weight: Caron One Pound or Red Heart Super Saver yarn are the types of yarns that work best. You will need approximately 400-500 yards of yarn.
FAQ: CAN I USE SOME TYPE OF WEIGHT INSIDE THE MANNEQUIN TO WEIGHT IT? Answer: You are welcome of course to experiment with weighting the bottom, however I can’t say it would work or not, as I have only created this pattern using the materials listed. I can say that using some type of sturdy tape, double sided and attached to bottom to secure to a surface is an option to help stabilize your mannequin to a surface. The mannequin will stand on it’s own if stuffed properly and the bottom is somewhat flattened out after stuffing.
These are my original patterns. Please don’t alter these patterns in any way and/or copy, or reformat it to sell as your pattern.
Please DO NOT SELL completed item ONLINE; of course you can use the finished item how ever and wherever you like, as in photos, in your store, as decoration, etc. Feel free to sell at Craft Fairs.
