Victoria's Halter
(Please see clarification about buttons below.)
This crocheted lacy halter top is made in a colorful 100% cotton. I like the way this yarn works with the vertical stripes, but you should able to use any worsted weight cotton or cotton blend for this top, solid or variegated.
The front edging is done first and then the rest of the garment is crocheted out from it around the body to form the vertical stripes. I have rated the pattern as Intermediate.
I did something a little different with this pattern and relied almost exclusively on charts for both the edging (using symbol crochet) and the main body of the garment. Some of the stitches are explained only through symbols.
I have tested the smaller size but not the larger size yet. Additional suggestions for making alterations to the length and width are given in the pattern.
Please feel free to Ravelmail me if you have any questions!
Please Note: This pattern uses U.S. crochet terminology.
Clarification about Buttons: I was intentionally vague about the buttons in the written pattern because the choice is completely up to you. Now that the final pictures are up you can see where I placed the buttons on this particular top. If you want to use bigger buttons, you can make the “picots” that will serve as buttonholes bigger (simply Ch4, 5, or 6).
