The advent calendar features 24 adorable mini socks designed toe-up using Judy’s Magic Cast On for toe, a heel flap and short rows for the heel, and tubular cast off at the top.

The number of the day is placed on one side of the sock with a unique motif taken from traditional Norwegian Selbu mittens on the other. The “leg” part is charted, the rest of the sock is written. Instructions for making the toe and heel in a contrasting color are included.

Each sock is fast to make, and the designer is able to make one a day even with two active toddlers at home (each sock takes her about 90 minutes to make).

Yarn needed: 100 g off white, and 50 g each of red, green, blue, and charcoal. If desired, remnant of silver or gold can be used on number 24 to make it extra special. The sock can easily be made smaller or larger by adjusting the needle and/or yarn size.
