Our second stop on this journey is Vidago, a town famous for its spa. Vidago was known to be the center of mineral water treatments in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
The Palace Hotel was built in 1910 during the Gilded Age and it became a retreat for the Portuguese Monarchy. It was the most luxurious hotel on the Iberian Peninsula. Other than the Spa, it also had tennis and croquet courts to keep the guest occupied, as well as a spacious skating ring on the small island located in the lake on the premises. It also hosted several concerts on its premises.
In 2010 the hotel reopened after having been completely renovated, refurbished and remodeled. It now also includes and expanded Golf Course and park.
The socks are based on the infamous Palace Hotel.

A nossa segunda paragem nesta viagem é Vidago, uma vila famosa pelas suas termas. Vidago era conhecida por ser o centro dos tratamentos de águas minerais no final do século XIX e início do século XX.
O Palace Hotel foi construído em 1910 durante a Era Dourada e tornou-se um refúgio para a Monarquia Portuguesa. Foi o hotel mais luxuoso da Península Ibérica. Além do Spa, contava também com campos de tênis e croquet para manter os hóspedes ocupados, também havia uma espaçosa pista de patinação na pequena ilha localizada no lago do local. O Palace Hotel acolheu vários concertos nas suas instalações.
Em 2010 o hotel reabriu depois de ter sido completamente renovado e remodelado. Agora também inclui e expandiu o campo de golfe e um parque.
