Vignay
The imagery in these fingerless mittens comes from various background motifs found in a version of La Legende dorée from 1404. This book, also known as “The Golden Legend”, is a collection of hagiographies, and was extremely popular throughout the middle ages. Originally written in the 13th century by Jacques de Voragine, it was later translated into French during the first half of the 14th century by Jean de Vignay.
