Viikka is a visually stunning but easy-to-knit ribbed hat. The 3D look is created with changing ribbing sections. The brim can be folded once or twice, whichever you prefer.

To fit a head circumference of approx. 20–21 (21–23, 23–25)“ / 51–53 (53–58.5, 58.5–63.5) cm.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 15 (15.5, 16.5)“ / 37.5 (40, 42.5) cm in ribbing (unstretched).

Height: 11 (12, 13)“ / 28.5 (30.5, 32.5) cm.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein of Tandem by West Wool (90% Falkland merino, 10% Texel, 252 yds / 230 m – 100 g), colourway True Blue.

If you decide to use another yarn, you will need approx. 219 (230, 246) yds / 200 (210, 225) m DK-weight yarn.

Needles: US 2.5 / 3 mm DPNs. Alternatively, 16” / 40 cm or 32” / 80 cm circular needles if using the Magic-Loop Method.

Notions: Stitch marker.

GAUGE
32 sts x 30 rnds to 4” / 10 cm in 2 x 2 Ribbing (unstretched), after blocking.

CONSTRUCTION
This hat is knitted in 2 x 2 Ribbing in the rnd from the brim up. There are 4 horizontal sections and the crown decrease. Sections 1, 3 and the crown section begin with knit sts, sections 2 and 4 with purl sts.
