While these gloves are knit with 5-ply yarn, a heavy 4-ply will work just as well. It will just make them softer.

For the experienced knitter these gauntlet gloves are heavily cabled with trellis and cable patterns that carry right up the fingers. The gauntlet is started from a braided cable. The thumb is ornamented with a Norse symbol for “happiness”.
