Vincent Socks
’The sunflowers preened under the sun’s glow as it began to dip behind them. The air was warm and still, the only sound across the fields was the twittering of birds and the hush of brush on canvas. His hands were steady, fingertips touched with oil and each stroke applied with the care not to ruin but to capture this hopeful place forever. He squinted as the sun came over the rim of the canvas and tugged down his hat so he could admire it from shadow. Swish, swish, swish, like a clock the brush ticked and as the painting was finished, the eternal moment begun again ‘
