This blanket is knit in strips of garter stitch that are later grafted together. Then, an edge is knit on. You cast on provisionally for each strip, and save the live stitches for the edge. The fact that there is no ordinary cast on/cast off makes the entire blanket completely bouncy and cuddly.

The directions tell you how to make a blanket that consists of 8 x 8 rectangles of 32 stitches x 19 ridges, but you can use any dimensions you like.

The blanket shown was knit in supersoft held double to achieve a gauge of 18 stitches per 10 cm (4 inches) on a 4.5 mm needle, but it can be knit at any gauge using any yarn you like.

The blanket shown measures 96 x 150 cm (38 x 59 inches) and weighs 700 g. Of these, 200 g is undyed yarn, the rest was used for the multicolored windows.

Vindauga is Old Norse for window (wind-eye). I find this word quite poetic!
