Vindicated
Designed originally for Fresh From the Cauldron’s 2009 vampire sock club. Based on the Underworld movies.
I love hand painted yarns especially those in the Fresh From the Cauldron line. I’m also very fond of fingerless glove patterns. I wanted to combine the two and go a different direction with the color… literally! In order to create a vertical play of color, these gloves are worked in a flat piece to create the body and then joined top & bottom to create the sleeve of the glove.
The challenge in this glove design was inventing a method for thumb gusset now that the stitches are going in a very different direction!
This pattern is inspired by the character of Selene in the Underworld series. I used her colorway from Fresh From the Cauldron’s exclusive vampire club series. I gave it the name “vindication” as Selene battled the traditions of the vampires to find the truth.
