Vine Pops
Formerly the TTL Mystery Shawl 2018. AJCee won the Name That Mystery Shawl contest with her suggestion Vine Pops. I loved her idea, and the way she said it simply and beautifully “from delicate seedlings lovely long vines twine around this shawl to pop into delicate blossoms”
About the Design
Vine Pops is a two-color asymmetrical triangle. I recommend a solid or near solid yarn for both colors. I do not recommend highly variegated yarns for this pattern. If desired this shawl may be worked as a single color shawl.
The pattern includes both charts and line by line written instructions for the stitch patterns.
This may be worked in any weight yarn, but keep in mind that the heavier the yarn, the more yarn you will need. The sample shawl used approximately 390 yards of color A and approximately 360 of yards of color B in Miss Babs Woodbury, a fingering-weight yarn. Be sure to allow extra. The amount of yarn needed will vary with slight differences in personal gauge, yarn weight, fiber, and brand (even within same yarn weight category).
Although this is a shawl, it is important to obtain gauge in order to avoid running out of yarn and to have your finished shawl match the size indicated. The gauge given is a blocked gauge.
