Vinter Hat: Fruit Stripe - a densely felted and incredibly warm stocking hat.

The Vinter hat, with its folded brim proving a double layer of warmth over the forehead and ears, will quickly become a favorite on cold days. It is first knit and when felted is dense, but yet remains super soft due to the baby alpaca yarn. This will quickly become your go-to winter hat for any cold outdoor activity.

Vinter is knit in the round from the bottom up. It’s a great hat for beginning knitters, as more than half of it is a simple K2P2 rib. The body of the hat is knit stitch with K2tog decreases to round it off. There are no seams. Instructions are included for felting it in the washing machine.

GAUGE
5 sts = 1 inch (When felting, a perfect gauge is not crucial. If it’s close, it’s fine!)

The adult M seems to fit most women and the adult L fits most men. When felted, the length of the hat will shrink more than the width, so the finished size can be adjusted with the amount of felting.
