The viola is often called the hearts ease or the wild pansy. It is an anti-inflammatory and is traditionally used as a soothing balm to skin conditions such as eczema. Taken as a tea it can help to ease bronchitis and coughs.

This pattern is worked in the round and I use abbreviations according to US crochet language. I can provide the pattern in UK crochet language if preferred, please just contact me.

The finished viola is approximately 2.25” (5.5cm) in diameter. This flower would be beautiful as a brooch, hair-clips or a bag embellishment.

Tools Needed:
3.5mm (US size E) crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle

Yarn Needed:
DK acrylic yarn in lemon yellow, purple and black.
(Other colours shown are: lavender/purple/black/lemon yellow
and lemon yellow/plum/black).
