Violaceus Socks
The Violaceus Socks feature a bi-color texture motif. The motif is modeled after the iridescent elytral markings of the ‘violaceus’ subspecies of a ground beetle called Tefflus carinatus, but this genus has beetles of many colors so feel free to get creative! These socks are knit toe-up with a short-row heel and are not left/right footed, facilitating two-at-a-time knitting. The colorwork instructions are provided in both written and charted formats.
Sizing
I provide instructions for 7 foot circumferences: 7”/18cm (7.5”/19cm) (8”/20.5cm) (8.5”/21.5cm) (9”/23cm) (9.5”/24cm) (10”/25.5cm). Pattern includes detailed sizing information.
Yarn
180-320 meters (200-350 yards) in each of 2 colors of fingering-weight (sock) yarn
