The Virga pullover is knitted seamlessly top down. It is a comfortable sweater, worn with a good positive ease.

The piece is started at the front neck, increased to form the neckline and then to the full width of the front.
After that stitches are picked up along the shoulders for the back.
The pieces are joined at the underarm and the body is then knitted in the round.

A beautiful lace and cable pattern is worked on the front and the back.
Lastly, stitches for the sleeve and the neckband are then picked up from the body and worked in the round.
The length of the body is easily modified to suit your own body measurements.
The pattern includes instructions for making a short sleeves version.

Please be aware that adjusting the length of the garment will also affect the amount of yarn needed to finish the project.

fingering or sport weight yarn.

Gauge 
• for the sleeves: 24 sts x 34 rounds = 10 cm /4 inches of Stockinette stitch in the round on larger needles, after blocking.
• for the body: 24 sts x 34 rounds = 10 cm /4 inches in main pattern on larger needles, after blocking.

In the pattern, all key measurements are indicated in cm and inch. As long as the deviation remains reasonable, always choose a correct swatch in number of stitches (width).

Needles
• 4 mm US 6 circular needles for the body and sleeves.
• 3 mm US 2.5 circular needles for ribbing.

Always use the needle size that gives you the right gauge! Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Virga se tricote du haut vers le bas (top down) sans couture. C’est un pull confortable aux épaules ajustées, il se porte avec une bonne aisance positive.
On commence par réaliser le devant puis le dos, le corps est ensuite tricoté en circulaire.
Sur l’ensemble du projet un motif mêlant torsades et dentelles rythme l’ouvrage facile à retenir et à réaliser. C’est un projet motivant et entraînant.
Les mailles sont ensuite reprises le long des emmanchures, le haut de la manche est travaillé par une série de rang raccourcis. Les manches sont tricotées en circulaire.

Vous pouvez réaliser une version plus courte à porter à la taille, imaginer une version manches courtes ou ¾.
Le patron comprend les instructions pour réaliser une version manches courtes.

Dans le patron, toutes les mesures clefs sont indiquées en cm. Tant que l’écart reste raisonnable, privilégier donc un échantillon correct en nombre de mailles (largeur).

Matériel 
• Aiguille circulaire en 4 mm ou de la taille nécessaire pour obtenir le bon échantillon.
• Aiguille circulaire en 3 mm pour les finitions des manches et de l’encolure.
