For this design, the twin-leaf lace panel serves as the hatband for a stylish cloche, as well as the focal point for a matching cowl. Although the same yarn is used for both pieces, they’re knitted at different gauges. A smaller needle is combined with twisted stitches to produce the stiff fabric necessary for the cloche to keep its shape; a larger needle is used to produce a flexible and snuggly fabric for the cowl.
