ERRATA
In case there is any misunderstanding with the first and last 5 sts on the lace edge instructions - When working the lace edging there should be 5 stitches before and after the lace itself is worked.
On the RS; knit 5 sts, slip marker, begin lace edge pattern. When you reach the next marker, slip marker, knit 5 sts.
On the WS; knit 2 sts, purl to last 2 sts, knit 2.
