Lapping waves, like the ocean sweeping onto the a beach at sunset, drift along the length of the Virtual Sunset Scarf. This garter stitch scarf is worked lengthwise and relies upon simple increases and decreases to create its wavy lines.

The sample was knit using a gradient mini-skein set, but the scarf could also be worked in a solid or variegated colorway, or with alternating stripes of yarn.

Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different weight yarn or needle size will affect the size of the finished scarf and the amount of yarn needed.
