Virvelvind
This hat is based on a very simple (only two rows!) but effective lace pattern. Unlike most lace, it is very stretchy and works very well as a replacement for ribbing. Hat and fingerless mitts are both included in the pattern.
Measurements
Hat
Height: 10”/25 cm.
Circumference lace brim: 16 (17½, 19)“/40 (44, 48) cm.
Circumference at widest point: 20 (21¾, 23½)”/50 (55, 60) cm.
The lace brim is very stretchy, and should be 4–5”/10–12 cm smaller than head circumference.
Gauge
25 sts, 45 rows over 4×4”/10×10 cm in pattern with #4/3.5 mm needles.
24 sts, 38 rows over 4×4”/10×10 cm in stockinette with #6/4 mm needles.
